The Manitoba mentored hunting program is going into its 10th year this fall and has grown from a single hunt at Delta Marsh, north of Portage la Prairie to 15 across the province and is delivered by a partnership of conservation organizations including the Manitoba Wildlife Federation, Delta Waterfowl Foundation, Ducks Unlimited Canada and with the active support and encouragement of Manitoba Conservation.
"Perhaps most importantly, new hunters are exposed to a way of life that many Canadians have embraced for generations, said Cam Meuckon, Delta's Hunter Recruitment Director for Canada. "Hunting is a way to connect with the land, wildlife and to develop an appreciation for wildlife conservation."'Meuckon went on to note that "We are very excited going into our 10th year of mentored waterfowl hunts across the province. We have hunts tailored for people of all ages including third annual women's hunt and the University of Manitoba hunt on October 2 and 3.
