The new agency, dubbed the Assiniboine Park Conservancy, will have representatives from the city, province and all three non-profit agencies that currently operate within the park: Friends of the Conservatory, the Manitoba Zoological Society and Partners In The Park, which looks after the park's Pavilion and Lyric Theatre.

"Everyone is going to have to come together for the common good," said [Gord Steeves], whose committee is set to approve the new Conservancy model this morning.

According to a report written by Clive Wightman, Winnipeg's acting community services director, one potential headache involves the conversion from city management to a new, more entrepreneurial Assiniboine Park Conservancy.
