At the end of the service, [Shawn McCaughey]'s casket was carried back outside the hanger. Mourners watched the five CF-18 planes, chosen by McCaughey's family because he hoped to fly them one day, soar overhead in a tight arrow. As they passed, the second jet from the middle shot straight up in the air, symbolizing the missing man.
