[Angela K. Narth]'s Simon With Two Left Feet, a book about teasing that is accompanied by an animated picture book on interactive DVD, earned a bronze medal at the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards.

There's good news for another Winnipeg writer for young people. Duncan Thornton, whose young adult novel Kalifax was shortlisted for a Governor General's Award in 2000, has sold his latest novel.

"I plotted out the Inheritance series as a trilogy nine years ago, when I was 15," [Christopher Paolini] said in a statement. "At that time, I never imagined I'd write all three books, much less that they would be published. When I finally delved into Book Three, it soon became obvious that the remainder of the story was far too big to fit in one volume."
