Nipissing University's Biomass Innovation Centre is no more.

After a six-year run, staff members Dawn Lambe and Francis Gallo issued a May 22 news release of the North Bay university's decision to "shelve" BIC as part of an ongoing "restructuring effort and new strategic direction."

BIC was an advocacy group promoting the establishing of a biomass and bioenergy economy in Northern Ontario.

However, Lambe and Gallo said they're going in a new direction with the formation of a new group, the Biomass North Development Centre.
