"This is turning more and more into a recovery operation rather than a rescue," RCMP Cpl. Chris Ballard said late Monday night.

"They were all geared up and were there within minutes," Ballard said. "But they found no survivors."

"I heard a plane f lying very low, just above the treetops," said Trevor Down, who lives year-round on the north shore, close to the crash site.
