"We lost the other series so I don't want to look back too far," said [Kyle McLaren] as he unlaced his skates after the Sharks' practice. "I think we match up very good against Edmonton like we did Calgary."

"We have some pretty lofty (expectations) for ourselves," he said. "We are aware of San Jose being the hottest team in the NHL in the second half. We have to be on top of our game to get through this series and we're expecting that."

Edmonton coach Craig MacTavish said he's confident his players can contain the best the Sharks have to offer. "I really don't fear any matchup right now," said MacTavish. "I have no reason to based on how all four lines played in the first series."
