Recently I was reminiscing with a friend that as I get older I realize how idyllic my childhood at the cottage had been. She suggested that I should read Kingfisher Days by Susan Coyne, a story set at the Lake of the Woods, enriched by the presence of her elderly neighbour R.C. Moir.
