The 26-year-old Winnipegger is one of a growing number of adult children who return to their parents' home after moving out on their own, a group dubbed "boomerang kids" in a new Statistics Canada study.

It's believed to have started with female "wave one" baby boomers, women born between 1947 and 1956, who were 39 per cent more likely to boomerang than women born during the Depression and Second World War (1932-46).

"He just couldn't afford to pay rent and it just didn't work for him," he said.
