Mayor Sam Katz's decision to cancel 852 snow-related parking tickets has infuriated Coun. Bill Clement, whose committee oversees the city's snow-clearing efforts.
"I don't have any problem with people being ticketed," said Clement, chair of the public works committee. said, "In fact, frankly, when there's a ban they probably should be towed. It would only have to happen once. And then, all of a sudden the next time there was a ban, everybody would get off the street. The problem is, there's never any consequences.""I asked the mayor point-blank: 'Why did you do that?'" Clement said. "It's the first time anybody's been really listening to us. It was the first time I ever had people calling me and saying, 'Is it okay for me to park now, because they've cleaned my street?'"See the full content of this document
