With his carrot "microphone", the tireless community worker and Manitoba-grown vegetable promoter has become one of the most well-known personalities in Winnipeg.

"With all the Enrons in the world, it is nice to be with a corporation with a good name," he said Tuesday. "I call myself the spokesman for the vegetable growers. There are plenty of people who work here and the growers who make it so successful."
