Greg Selinger, the MLA for St. Boniface, assured residents at the meeting they would receive prompt attention from Manitoba minister of housing Gord Macintosh. Selinger advised residents to contact police if they feared for their immediate safety, and to raise their complaints about security with the Manitoba Housing 24-hour communications line.

About 70 residents -- many of whom are seniors and live on disability pensions -- said they're fed up with a handful of resident miscreants who are turning their property at 101 Marion St. into a dangerous place.
