With roughly 70 million viewers on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox broadcast network, Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, Telemundo, Telefutura and BBC America, along with another 3.5 million who watched on PBS, last week's vice-presidential debate out-drew every previous American debate except for the one between presidential candidates Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan in 1980, which attracted nearly 81 million viewers.
