The new vehicles are 46 per cent more fuel efficient than the older-style Fleetmax ambulances currently in the fleet. Manitoba Health spokesman Wil Bartel said the Sprinter ambulance costs about $140,000 each, about $10,000 more than the Fleetmax, but burns less fuel.
