Province supporting North Bay film studio.

The province is providing $374,045 to Canadore College's new post-production film facility. The federal government earlier contributed $499,995 to the project.

"We are extremely grateful for the confidence that the governments of Canada and Ontario have placed in Canadore College, and for the investments they are making in our Northern Ontario economy," Canadore president George Burton said in a release.

"Our post-production centre will provide access to unparalleled education to train film professionals, will attract more industry to our region and will provide an opportunity for our youth to stay and be employed in the North."

The 5,588-square-foot facility was announced last June, and will include state-of-the-art editing, audio-mixing, and colour-grading technology. It's expected to create 26 jobs over the next three years to support Northern Ontario's burgeoning film industry.
