SEX OFFENDER INFORMATION REGISTRATION ACT

Quebec Sex Offender Information Registration RegulationsWHEREAS the Sex Offender Information Registration Act, (S.C. 2004, c. 10) provides for the creation of a national sex offender database;

WHEREAS the Act provides that persons who are convicted of offenses of a sexual nature will be required to report to a designated place to have the information concerning them registered in a database available to police services investigating crimes of a sexual nature;

WHEREAS section 18 of the Act provides that the Lieutenant Governor in Council of a province may, for the purposes of the Act, make regulations respecting the means by which sex offenders are required to report and to provide notification, authorizing persons or classes of persons to collect and to register information, and designating ...
