"I am entirely opposed to Crown corporations making donations to the human rights or any other museum," wrote Dawn MacFarlane. "As for the argument that the donations will essentially not cost consumers anything -- that is blatantly untrue. It is an underhanded and unscrupulous abuse of funds which come from only one place -- our pockets."

"Regardless of the feeble assertions by spokespersons that electricity, gas, and insurance rates will not be affected by the proposed donations, they would still be spending dollars collected under the guise of required premiums or prices required to break even," wrote J. Hugh McMorrow.
