"We're very proud of the committee and volunteers and if it wasn't for our sponsors nothing would have been possible. We've heard nothing but good comments. We were able to provide our visitors with what they needed. There were some hot days and some kids were dehydrated, but it's a learning experience for us. Overall it went very well, better than what we expected."

Many special guests and dignitaries attended the summer games, including Assembly of First Nations National Chief Phil Fontaine, Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations Chief Lawrence Joseph, Premier Lorne Calvert, provincial minister of First Nations and Métis Relations Maynard Sonntag and a number of territorial chiefs. Alexander Latta, Alex Decouteau's grandnephew, was also on hand, along with two of [Decoteau]'s grandnieces.
