[Rochelle Gamliel] said that the Grade 9 social studies curriculum includes the Holocaust, but at many public schools "They feel like they've done their job by showing Schindler's List."

"I was blown out of my mind" at the lack of knowledge among public school students, said Grade 12 student Erica Lasker. "It's very hard to explain, when they have no idea.

"You've been protected all your lives," Gamliel told her students. "You're going to find that out in university next year," when they'll have classmates who'll say they've never before met a Jew, she said.
