On Wednesday, [Theodore Lismer] reduced Irvine's 30-month prison sentence to a 21-month sentence for good behaviour while on bail. Then, Lismer decided Irvine qualified for a conditional sentence to be served in the community because his reduced sentence was less than two years.

"I thought, 'Wow.' I was lucky, I had two people in here," said [GRACE Huynh]. "All my customers said, 'What would you do if you'd been by yourself?' I said I didn't know. I don't want to think about it."

"Something is really, really wrong with our justice system," she said, asking her name not be published. "I know they factor in whatever they factor in, but I still felt he needed to get some time in prison... it's a measly sentence."
