They already suffered an offensive blow with [Dany Heatley]'s shoulder injury. Alfredsson's injury cuts them to the edge.

"After the first three or four scorers, we've scored by committee this year," he said. "We've got key goals from those players, five through 10 or 11, but I think we've just got to find a way here.

"I don't think we were smart at times," he said. "No one is going to replace those guys. But as far as a unit of five, guys were playing by themselves at times. The main thing is that we have to keep it simple -- forecheck and drive the net.
