Settlement for wood workers.

Unifor announced a "significant settlement" was reached Oct. 1 at an Ontario Labour Relations Board hearing for terminated employees of Gingrich Woodcraft, a northwestern Ontario cabinetry making factory located near Fort Frances.

The plant was abruptly closed by its owners in August when workers at the factory voted to unionize and join Unifor. The owners claimed their religious beliefs precluded them from negotiating with a union.

The family-owned business employed 25 in the village of Devlin.
