It's not Ted Danson's first time playing a doctor on TV, but Becker didn't have patients this funny. In this new sitcom, Danson plays a psychotherapist whose public image as a successful self-help author is a cover for his own inner dysfunction. He also leads a colourful therapy group whose members get into all kinds of scrapes applying his advice to their lives. Think Bob Newhart outside the box. Added bonus: Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) plays the doc's ex. ABC, 8:30 p.m.

You can run from the cops, but you can't run away from good old-fashioned female intuition. Hope has no proof, but she's pretty sure that Bobby was involved in the Pittsburgh museum robbery and starts investigating on her own. Annie asks Tom and [Jeff Capri] to go in with her on an identity theft job, which rekindles the spark between her and Tom in the aptly titled new episode Two. CBS, 9 p.m.

If you don't like Stabler's new partner, Dani Beck (Connie Nielsen), don't despair; she's only supposed to be around for six episodes. You'll meet her in this one, as will Stabler. First, though, he works with Fin on the disappearance of two high-school students during a museum field trip. Betty Buckley reprises her guest role as lawyer Colette Walsh in the new episode Clock.
