In 1984, Canadian jazz guitarist Lenny Breau was found dead in a swimming pool in Los Angeles. He was 43. A coroner said Breau was strangled but no one was ever arrested. Breau, who spent his formative years in Winnipeg, was known for his harmonic innovations on the guitar. He played with many leading American musicians, including Chet Atkins.
