Summary
The program is no less large. Bach's French Suite No. 5 has a few overindulged moments -- beauty marks, really -- but dances as it should and with touches of the dtach passagework Glenn Gould used to do. American composer Philip Lasser's Twelve Variations on a Chorale by J.S. Bach is beautifully and affectionately set.
