Veteran politician Inky Mark announced in late June that he would retire from his role as MP for the riding whenever the next federal election rolls around, out of a desire to spend more time with his family. Sopuck's career has included senior positions in both the public and private sectors with independent business activity focused on agriculture, forestry, fisheries, tourism and the environment.
