"I've been tracking [Blair Atkinson] straight through junior and I know he's a quality receiver. If we bring a kid to camp, he's got an opportunity to make the team," said [Bob Dyce], also the Bombers' Canadian College draft co-ordinator. He said Atkinson was on their draft list but the Bombers ended up claiming him after the draft as a free-agent signing on May 11. "He's not an outright fast guy but he's always understood the concept well of how to get open and work against defensive players' leverages. He's a big kid as well and that means he can play special teams. If he comes out and impresses on special teams and plays a good game, there's nothing stopping him from making the team, that's for sure."
