"I don't think there is anybody in town who won't be affected by this," Stonewall Mayor Ross Thompson said Sunday. "People were driving by after Remembrance Day (services) to pay their last respects."
It belonged to Samuel J. (Stonewall) Jackson, the town's founder, the owner of the limestone quarry and a mover and shaker in the province's history in the 1880s and 1890s.
