"I'm such a huge fan of [Guy Maddin]'s films. I think they're among the most inspiring films I've seen," [Neil Burns] says. "The Saddest Music in the World is my favourite Canadian film, so it was a dream to end up in this project, really.

"When you read the script, it's pretty out there ," Burns says. "And just being familiar with Guy Maddin's work gave me a different view of seeing how this script might be."

"It's quite risky financially," Burns says. "So I'm glad they went that way."
