CWB critics don't believe the single desk earns premium prices or if it does, they aren't getting to farmers. Fair enough, but consider this: If the CWB, armed with a selling monopoly on behalf of farmers, is failing to provide any economic benefit now, why would it do any better in an open market, especially without facilities? It defies logic.
Even if the CWB was able to compete in an open market, what's the point if it can't deliver more than other grain companies already do? The CWB shouldn't exist for its own sake; it's there to maximize farmer returns. If it doesn't, get rid of it.See the full content of this document
