"It was probably the first time we've faced adversity," confessed Team Canada netminder Jonathan Bernier. "The group of guys in the Super Series, we didn't face adversity against Russia and here, too. It think it's going to be a good thing for us over the next couple games. We know there's another team better than us... I won't say better than us, but good teams."

"We didn't come to this tournament to keep the streak going," Team Canada captain Karl Alzner said. "We came here to win a gold medal and we're still in the running for that. So that's all we care about."

"I think as we talked and they talked, too, they're actually angry now and that's good," [Craig Hartsburg] concluded. "They're not feeling sorry for themselves and that's my biggest fear. But I don't sense that. They're going to have to refocus and get back on the mission again."
