Sweet Mary! Not Again!

Summary


You've got a [Jesus Christ] who married [Mary Magdalene] -- assuming that they even bothered to get married -- and had a son. Neither of these is mentioned in the Bible, so we have to assume that Jesus didn't die on the Cross, either, so throw out the Redemption, too.

According to the Bible, Mary Magdalene wasn't exactly the kind of sportin' gal she is being portrayed as these days. She has often been confused with the anonymously immoral woman who wet Christ's feet with her tears and dried them with her hair and was forgiven her sins, but there is no reason to believe that they were the same person or that Mary Magdalene was anything but the practical, devoted and virtuous woman that is portrayed in the Bible.

A lot of people believe all this. They might also believe the story about Jesus's family plot. [James Cameron] claims that the ossuaries -- small coffins -- that contained the bones of the Holy Family were found in the same cave as the James Ossuary, which was claimed to be the casket of the James who is said to be the brother of Jesus.
