"I don't understand why they'd do this if they weren't trying to hurt somebody," he said. "If they were normal, wouldn't they think about the people living next door?"

"I told them I can't fight all their battles," said Elsie Moar, [Brian McKay]'s grandmother, sitting across the kitchen table from her grandson.

"They want to belong . . . they said they don't mind it here," said Moar, who said she is known as "wicked" among neighbourhood children for admonishing other children when they use foul language.
