"Don't take things personally. As a newly elected chief at the time, this was the best damn advice I ever received. It helped me to sit through and survive endless demands from people, while we were on a recovery phase of our finances."

Q What quality do you look for in people?

"I am kind of the quiet type. I like people who can just ignore that and can just go on and on about their life story."

Q Was there a fork in road experience in your life?

"I don't know about this one, but back in residential school, I had a choice of leaving the school and becoming a day student. I was thinking about my younger brothers who were still there. I chose to go back on account of them."
