After recovering from an 0-2 start to win last year's MasterCard Memorial Cup with four straight victories, the Spitfires added to their legend this spring with an historic comeback against the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League's Western Conference final. Trailing the Rangers 3-0, the Spitfires rebounded from their only three losses of the playoffs to take the next four games before sweeping the Barrie Colts in four straight in the league final to earn a chance to become the first team to win back-to-back Memorial Cups since the Kamloops Blazers in 1994 and 1995.
