The Stylus magazine in Winnipeg Canada was founded in 1989. Its mandate was to write about music that was not covered in the mainstream media, and, although it has become more polished over the years, not much has changed. Since 2000, Stylus' covers have featured the work of visual artists, generally from the Winnipeg community, to draw attention to the role that visual art plays in the musical world.
