It wasn't that he didn't see the stop sign because he did decelerate. He saw it but didn't think he needed to stop.

I see people who aren't on cellphones rolling through stop signs all the time, too. Or I see drivers who are about to roll through a stop but at the last second make a check and slam the brakes when they see you coming. That's quite common. You know they're about to do it by their car body language, or would have done it if you hadn't come along.

I think, what did I start? And how do I stop it? (My other feeling is if everyone's doing it, it's boring and I don't do it anymore. But that's just me.)
