I don't know a lot about [Guy Maddin], but according to the program they handed out, in addition to being a filmmaker, he is also "the world's foremost cineaste planant," which I think is pretty darn impressive, even though I don't know what it means and I'm too tired to look for a dictionary at the moment.

If it wasn't for [Boris] -- who is trying to make me more "hip" by randomly exposing me to "the arts" -- I would not have gone to see this movie. I would have stayed at home on the couch, scratching myself and watching Canadian Idol while eating salsa straight from the jar.

Seeing how mad everyone got when someone thought "Spirited Energy" was a better slogan than "Friendly Manitoba";
