"Just being here was the first step, but now we're headed to the top four and we know we can play two more games," said Notre Dame head coach Del Pedrick, a native of Melita. "I just said to the guys, 'it's up to you where you want to carve your place in history here. We'll be in top four for sure but what position is up to you.' "

"We've already done better than anyone thought we were going to, so we can take some pride in that, but tomorrow is the big thing for us right now," said Thrashers captain Jeff Weselake, one of the team's eight returning players. "This is do-or-die for us. During the year, our goal was to win our way here and so we faced lots of must-wins in trying to achieve that goal. Tomorrow is very important and we plan on winning. We're pretty excited because lots of us have played there (in the national semifinals before) and that experience will help us a lot."
