The Winnipeg-based women's team won the 2010 NORCECA qualification tournament last weekend in Tijuana, Mexico to qualify for the 2010 FIVB worlds in Japan Oct. 29-Nov. 14, 2010.
"It's a big accomplishment to qualify for the 2010 world championship. The worlds are only held every four years and, next to the Olympics, this is the most significant event for indoor volleyball," said Team Canada Volleyball Centre director of operations John Blacher.Canada's men, now based in Gatineau, Que., have qualified for the 2010 men's worlds with the help of Manitobans Dustin Schneider of Brandon and Toon van Lankvelt of Rivers along with former Bisons Dan Lewis of Oakville, Ont., and Steve Brinkman of Bowmanville, Ont.See the full content of this document
