This year's robust infestation of cankerworms can harm trees, said Dorothy Dobbie, president of Winnipeg's Coalition to Save the Elms, which sponsored yesterday's event."If you've got a cankerworm infestation, a tree (like an elm) has to regenerate all its leaves, which means it's using energy it could be using to fight something like Dutch Elm Disease," she said.
