Two Killed in Collision with Police Vehicle

Summary

An RCMP spokesman confirmed Sunday that a truck belonging to Brokenhead band constables had crashed around 5 p.m. with a vehicle on Linx Lane Road, southwest of Highway 59. The vehicle was identified by an eyewitness as a 1994 Mercury Sable four-door grey sedan, and residents said the woman and her son had been living on the reserve. The woman had relocated there from Surrey, B.C., about two years ago, they said.

"They were good people," said Patrick Bunn, who identified himself as an uncle to the woman killed and her son. "I'm not sure what happened."
