Summary
"Victoria is a city full of beauty and old world heritage that invites visitors to discover new world experiences such as outdoor adventure, culinary tourism, arts and culture, luxury resorts and spas," says Holly Lenk of Tourism Victoria.
Afternoon tea at the Empress has become a tradition over the decades, inspired by one of Queen Victoria's ladies in waiting. Legend has it that the Duchess of Bedford often felt "peckish" in the late afternoon, so she would ask a servant for a small cake or sandwich, along with tea. It soon became a daily practice for the Duchess, who eventually began inviting friends over to indulge with her. The ritual of afternoon tea was born."Golfers can choose from 15 primary courses in the Victoria area, from full-scale championship links to smaller and less difficult courses, most with spectacular lake, ocean and mountain views," says Lenk. "The truly dedicated golfer can spend an entire vacation exploring the variety of courses, and literally golf their way up and down Vancouver Island."See the full content of this document
