The volatility was much in evidence Monday as Toronto's S&P/TSX composite index points surged almost 200 points in the early going but ended up closing down 38.83 points to 13,427.45 as early strong gains in the financial sector turned to losses. The showing leaves the TSX down more than seven per cent from the record high reached July 19.
