Manitoba 4 - H is interviewing for a volunteer assistant program director for their 4 - H Skills Thrills annual national 4 - H career fair.¬ The entire commitment is¬ two years -- 2008 as assistant program director for the event in Brandon Nov. 28 - 30, and 2009 as program director for the event in Winnipeg.¬ Application deadline is March 7.¬ Call Barb at hayman@mts.net.
Winnipeg Harvest, a not-for-profit charitable organization, is in need of the following volunteers:¬ Mr. or Ms. Fix-It, to perform general building maintenance, paint, carpentry, etc.; order fillers, to work in the warehouse processing orders for clients; drivers, to drive a cube van, cargo van or a five-ton truck to pick up and deliver food to various agencies; webmaster to provide administrative maintenance to the website; administrative assistants, to assist management in a number of office duties; and gardeners to help with Harvest's garden beginning this spring.¬ Call Gary at 982-3587 or e-mail gary.mcghee@winnipegharvest.org. "Get Better Together" is currently looking for volunteers to attend training to lead their self-management program.¬ This is a research-based program for living better for those with health problems.¬ The program and training are free of charge.
