"We played against each other growing up. We're the same age. I'm basically trying to do what he's already done," said [Riley Cote], who has no goals and one assist so far this season. "We didn't have a beef or anything. There's respect. But we had a pretty good fight."
"I have the potential to be an offensive player, but when you only play for four or five minutes a night it's hard," said Cote. "You need ice time to produce. When I get out there I try to get noticed quick and that's with a big hit or a fight. It's my role right now and I'm glad to have it.""You can't fight every night. You wouldn't make it through the season alive. But you have to prepare for it and expect to. For a guy that scores, he worries about putting up points," tells Cote. "I have to prepare to deal with guys like [Donald Brashear] and Orr. It's stressful. But it's what you have to do and being in the NHL is the place for me.
