The election has been a low-key event this year, pitting incumbent president David Chartrand against Yvon Dumont, a former MMF president and former Manitoba lieutenant governor.
Chartrand beat Dumont in the 2003 MMF election.The 2003 MMF election -- which featured the same two combatants -- turned out to be a political and legal nightmare.
