The Brandon Wheat Kings head coach/general manager chose 19-year-old Russian left winger Maxim Mayorov with his first pick, 33rd overall, in the Canadian Hockey League import draft on Thursday. Mayorov is by no means a lock to end up in Brandon next season, but McCrimmon felt the chance to add the 2007 fourth-round NHL draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets to the mix was well worth the pick he acquired from the Moose Jaw Warriors for Brandon's first-round import pick next year.
