Summary
On the peace process, all countries are guided by the Quartet's Roadmap for Palestinian statehood. As far as Israel is concerned, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted the two-state solution, has even agreed to freeze all settlement building activity, with only one reservation -- building for "natural growth" -- still unsolved. This is the point that was discussed Monday in London by Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak and the U.S. presidential envoy George Mitchell. It is reliably believed that Obama is discussing this point in the context of a regional alliance. The U.S. president has already written to Morocco's King Muhammad VI urging him to reopen his interest-section in Tel-Aviv.
The Iranian crisis is among the top subjects of discussion in Moscow between U.S. President Barack Obama and his Russian counterparts, President Dimitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. It is also a subject of intense consultations between Great Britain, France, Germany, Israel and moderate Arab leaders.
