"I can't quite get my head around what's happened... It's just made such a big difference," he said from the Waverley Heights living room of some newfound friends.

"When I read his story, my first reaction was 'that sucks,'" said Tamar Church. "I've travelled, and I can just imagine what it would be like to be in another part of the world and to lose everything you have -- and on a weekend, when you can't get things replaced. It would just suck.

He can't do much about the stolen passport until Monday when the British High Commission office opens, but he doesn't think that will be a problem. He's been fully outfitted and said he's turning over any more offers of cash to Winnipeg Harvest.
